The airline business model is changing.

For many years, airlines operated with advanced ticket distribution capabilities, but these systems no longer meet the expectations of today’s e-commerce consumers. To sell their products differently, carriers now need to move from traditional, historic revenue management to supply management.

This transition is a big step forward and those who evolve fastest and most effectively will lead the sector.

Our key objectives with this blueprint is to

- Clarify the fundamental trends to be considered (on customer and airline business side) for the design of a new generation PSS system.

- Clarify the high-level structure of a new generation PSS, and the necessary building blocks which will allow a new generation merchandising practice, by combining a traditional airline inventory management, a combination of airline and partners offer, and a new generation of offer/ order management system.

- Describe the status of the IT commercial offer vis a vis the different blocks.

- Propose a progressive transition methodology to a full new generation PSS, based on application blocks progressive integration and build.
